L’Hotellerie Easy Suites Palermo — on short notice, we booked a week-long trip to Sicily and decided to make Palermo our base for exploring the island.
From the moment we arrived at L’Hotellerie Easy Suites, we felt completely at home — only better. Set within Palermo’s historic centre, the property combines a beautiful historic setting with carefully considered interiors, individual suites and a relaxed atmosphere.
The owners’ attention to detail was immediately obvious, from the character of the building and eclectic furnishings to the quieter spaces where we could slow down after a day exploring Sicily.
This is our personal review of staying at L’Hotellerie Easy Suites Palermo, including the property, our experience of the suites and the reasons we enjoyed using it as our base for exploring Sicily.

L’Hotellerie Easy Suites is located on Foro Italico in Palermo, within the historic centre and close to the Kalsa district.
The property occupies part of the historic Arab walls, with the building overlooking the sea and sitting close to Porta Felice and the waterfront. The location also makes it a convenient base for exploring Palermo before heading further into Sicily.
The hotel’s interiors combine restored historic elements with more contemporary design, while each suite has its own character and individual look.

First impressions
Arriving in Palermo, we were immediately struck by how different L’Hotellerie Easy Suites felt from a conventional hotel.
The building has a huge amount of character, with historic features sitting alongside eclectic furniture, artwork and carefully selected details.
There is a real sense that the property has been designed rather than simply decorated. The owners’ attention to detail is noticeable throughout, with restored pieces, interesting objects and a mixture of colours and textures giving the spaces plenty of personality.
After travelling across Sicily during the day, it was also great to have somewhere that felt calm and comfortable to return to.

The suite
One of the things that makes L’Hotellerie Easy Suites different is that no two rooms feel exactly the same.
The property’s suites have been designed individually, with differences in size, colours, furnishings and views giving each one its own personality.
Rather than the uniform feel you sometimes get from larger hotels, staying here feels much more personal. Historic details are mixed with contemporary comforts, while the carefully chosen furniture and artwork give the rooms plenty of character.
The attention to detail continues throughout the property, with the design reflecting the same mixture of old and new that you find throughout Palermo itself.
For us, it was this combination of character, comfort and individuality that made the stay feel memorable.
The rooftop terrace
One of the highlights of L’Hotellerie Easy Suites is the rooftop terrace.
After spending time exploring Palermo, the terrace gives you somewhere to slow down, enjoy the sunshine and take in the surroundings.
The property has a small relaxation pool on the terrace, together with sun loungers and an outdoor area designed for spending time away from the busy streets of the city.
It is the kind of space that makes the hotel feel like more than simply somewhere to sleep. After a day exploring Palermo or heading further afield around Sicily, having somewhere peaceful to return to was a real bonus.

During our stay, I was also asked to create a short promotional video showcasing L’Hotellerie Easy Suites and its beautiful setting in Palermo. Combining the property, its interiors, rooftop terrace and surrounding atmosphere, the video was designed to capture the character of the hotel and give potential guests a feel for the experience of staying there.
Exploring Palermo
Of course, one of the biggest reasons for choosing L’Hotellerie Easy Suites was the opportunity to explore Palermo and use the city as our base for discovering more of Sicily.
We spent several days slowly exploring Palermo before hiring a car and heading further afield around the island.
The hotel’s location on the edge of the historic centre made it a convenient starting point for wandering through the city, while the nearby Kalsa district is packed with historic buildings, churches, galleries and places to eat.
Palermo is a city where you can spend hours simply walking without a strict plan. The mixture of architecture, street life, markets and food makes it a brilliant destination for photographers too.

A base for exploring Sicily
Although Palermo itself gave us plenty to explore, the real advantage of spending a week in Sicily was being able to get out of the city and discover more of the island.
We hired a car when we arrived and used Palermo as our base before heading out to the different locations we had planned to visit.
It meant we could spend part of the trip getting lost in the streets of Palermo and then switch things up completely by heading out into the wider Sicilian landscape.
For a one-week trip, having a comfortable base to return to at the end of the day made a big difference.
And after a full day on the road, coming back to L’Hotellerie Easy Suites felt like the perfect way to slow things down again.
Final thoughts
Sadly, our week in Sicily eventually came to an end.
What started as a last-minute decision to book a trip turned into one of those holidays where we really didn’t want to leave.
L’Hotellerie Easy Suites gave us a comfortable and characterful base from which to explore Palermo and the wider island, but what really stayed with us was the feeling of the property itself.
The attention to detail, the individual character of the rooms and the mixture of historic architecture and contemporary design made it feel much more personal than a conventional hotel.
If you’re planning a trip to Palermo and want somewhere with character, a great location and plenty of personality, L’Hotellerie Easy Suites is certainly worth considering.
